in MFI values, however it was not statisticlly significant. The mean percentage of CD19/TNF-α cells was significantly higher, while the percentage of CD19/IL-2, CD19/IL-4 and CD19/ IFN-γ was lower in ZAP-70 positive than ZAP-70 negative patients. There was no significant difference between ZAP-70 positive and ZAP-70 negative group as far as MFI was concerned. Conclusions. Our findings demonstrate an association between ZAP-70 and cytokine expression in B-CLL. The more aggressive course of disease is connected with higher capability of T cells in production of cytokines responsible for disease pathogenesis. Such a connection is also observed in production of TNF-α by malignant B lymphocytes. Our results may approve the role of ZAP-70 expression by malignant cells as a good prognostic marker for B-CLL.

Central Nervous System Involvement of T-cell Prolymphocytic Leukemia Diagnosed with Stereotactic Brain Biopsy: Case Report
Prolymphocytic leukemia (PLL) is a generalized malignancy of the lymphoid tissue characterized by the accumulation of monoclonal lymphocytes, usually of B cell type. Involvement of the central nervous system (CNS) is an extremely rare complication of T-cell prolymphocytic leukemia (T-PLL). We describe a case of T-PLL presenting with symptomatic infiltration of the brain that was histopathologic...

Primary thyroid T-cell lymphoma is rare, with only 19 cases reported previously. T-cell prolymphocytic leukemia/ lymphoma (T-PLL) is a rare entity among T-cell lymphomas. T-PLL patients present with hepatosplenomegaly, lymphadenopathy, skin infiltration and a high leukocyte count, sometimes with anaemia and thrombocytopenia, but thyroid infiltration has been reported in only one other case. Her...

T-cell prolymphocytic leukemia (T-PLL) is a rare and aggressive subtype of chronic lymphocytic leukemia. Usually it presents in older people with a median age of 61 years. T-PLL is characterized by elevated white blood cell (WBC) count with anemia and thrombocytopenia, hepatosplenomegaly, and lymphadenopathy; less common findings are skin infiltration and pleural effusions. The most frequent ch...

BACKGROUND: T-cell prolymphocytic leukemia (T-PLL) is a post-thymic T-cell malignancy with aggressive clinical course. Although T-PLL has been referred to under different designations, it is a distinct clinico-biological entity and should be distinguished from other T-cell disorders. METHODS: The literature on T-PLL is reviewed. Experience on the clinical and laboratory features, differential d...

B- and T-cell subtypes of prolymphocytic leukemia (PLL) are rare, aggressive lymphoid malignancies with characteristic morphologic, immunophenotypic, cytogenetic, and molecular features. Prognosis for these patients remains poor, with short survival times and no curative therapy. The advent of mAbs has improved treatment options. In B-PLL, rituximab-based combination chemoimmunotherapy is effec...
